This felt like when you've tripped and fallen and you're sitting on the ground trying to muster up the oomph to get to your feet and someone reaches a hand down to help you up...thanks, Alex, for the hand.
What a beautiful reminder. If we can just sit in the discomfort, it often dissipates all on its own. And how refreshing to read that we can all be uncomfortable together. Thank you for this gift of 'uncomfortable' community.
This resonates so so much — both as a generalized experience over the pandemic, and lately very specifically as I recover from breaking my ankle very badly around Christmas! Recovery has been sloooow and a big part of it has been convincing myself to try things that feel impossible, only to realize I can do them, even if they're hard (like...stairs lol). Loved reading this today <3
Sorry to hear about your ankle! It's so difficult to get past fear like that once we've seen what can happen. But we're resilient! We can make it through! Hope your recovery is continuing smoothly <3
Thank you!! We *are* resilient — and, according to my physical therapist, a big part of that resiliency is exactly the kind of "doing hard things and discovering you'll be okay after" that you're talking about :)
